50 Books/50 Covers Competition

We are pleased to announce that 50 Books/ 50 Covers honored five Yale University Press Art & Architecture books. Four were were awarded Best Book Design and one was awarded Best Book Cover. In partnership with Design Observer, AIGA, and Designer & Books; the 50 Books/50 Covers competition recognizes the year’s 50 best book and 50 best book cover designs. With its inception in 1924, 50 Books/50 Covers represents perhaps the most prestigious and longest-standing graphic design award. Each award winner in book and book cover design is showcased on the  Design Observer, AIGA Design Archives, and Designer & Books websites.

Congratulations to the book designers, to our publishing partners, and to the editorial, design and production teams at YUP for the recognition of their excellent design work! Congratulations to the all of the other designers and publishers who were also honored!
