As spring turns into summer here in New England, nature is bursting forth everywhere. Farmer’s markets are overflowing with leafy greens, herbs, peas, and strawberries. Alders, elms and oaks are again offering us a whispering canopy. And if you listen carefully, fern fronds and tiny blooms are actually begging – fetchingly, politely – to be photographed, to be sketched, or to be carefully gathered with their relatives in nature journals.
Send us your best representation (photo, drawing, painting, etc.) of an example of your local flora; we’ll gather them on our ARTbooks Facebook page, and share a selection of standouts on Tumblr… we’ll also send the first and third respondents a copy each of the phenomenal publication Of Green Leaf, Bird, and Flower.
To those of you who already have the book – and to our contest winners – we’re also gathering photos from around the world of the book itself in situ! See below for some examples we’ve already collected. We invite you to send these, too, to email@example.com. Let us know where and when you took the photo.
