100 Shoes Fashion Week Giveaway Contest

Following last year’s publication of 100 Dresses, the Costume Institute at The Metropolitan Museum of Art will soon publish 100 Shoes, an exclusive look at one hundred fabulous shoes from their renowned collection. Edited by Costume Institute Curator in Charge, Harold Koda, with an introduction by actress Sarah Jessica Parker, the volume illustrates the history and evolution of styles from the 16th century to the present, featuring the full range of shoes—flats, stilettos, platforms, and more—including those fashioned by notable designers like Manolo Blahnik, Christian Louboutin, Roger Vivier, and Vivienne Westwood.

As you hit the runways for New York Fashion Week, be sure to choose your footwear carefully. In images and words, 100 Shoes details how women have used these essential fashion accessories to elevate their style, stature, and status throughout the centuries. In honor of all the activity this week, we want to give our readers a chance to win a copy of this beautiful volume. All you have to do is send us your original photo of your favorite and most fashionable shoes. We’ll announce 5 winners on our blog later this month after the contest ends on Friday, September 16, just as you’re putting away your haute styles for the next time around. And don’t worry: we have an appreciation for both the trendy and the quirky; after all, as Roger Vivier once said: “To wear dreams on one’s feet is to begin to give reality to one’s dreams.”
